Press Release: Back on My Feet Hosts 2022 Sneaks Come Out at Night 5K

National nonprofit invites Charm City to join its mission to combat homelessness through the power of fitness and community

Baltimore, MD, June 29, 2022 – Back on My Feet, a national nonprofit that supports individuals experiencing homelessness, will host its annual event, ‘Sneaks Come Out at Night, in Baltimore on Friday, August 5, 2022. The 5K night run, for one night each year, brings local community members and runners together to take over the streets of Baltimore for an electrifying and competitive running experience.

“We’re thrilled to host the ‘Sneaks Come Out at Night’ 5K in Charm City this year,” said Back on My Feet Development Manager Valerie Blaemire. “This event is our fully charged 5K that brings our community, volunteers, members and alumni together for an exciting experience all while raising awareness of our mission and helping support our Baltimore members.”

Founded in 2007, Back on My Feet takes a holistic approach to helping people experiencing homelessness become self-sufficient and accomplish their goals. The organization’s unique fitness-based model, combined with its emphasis on workforce development and housing resources, demonstrates that restoring confidence, strength and self-esteem can create a pathway to new jobs, homes, and lives.

Participants can register as a solo 5k runner or recruit two friends and register as a team of three. There will be awards and prizes based on Individuals and Teams. All participants are also eligible to join Back on My Feet’s FundRacing Incentive Program. The event will take place at Herring Run Park form 6 to 8 pm and is sponsored by Brown Advisory and Bimbo Bakeries.
