About Back on My Feet
We empower people to break free from the cycles of poverty, homelessness, and/or addiction through the power of fitness, community support, and employment resources.
Overcoming Homelessness & Addiction
Operating in 16 cities nationwide, Back on My Feet has been breaking cycles of poverty and addiction across the country. We believe long-term transformation can happen, but it needs a new approach, one that combines community and accountability to achieve economic stability.
From the day members join us from a homeless shelter or rehabilitation facility to the day they graduate, the Back on My Feet community is there to offer support and resources. Our members begin their journey by committing to run or walk 2-3 days a week and receive access to workshops, personalized support, and a one-on-one mentor.
It is our honor to guide and cheer our members on as they not only start their careers, but also build their credit, purchase homes, and reunite with their families.
“My journey was really hard, but worth it. I’ve been able to help so many people. Five years ago, I came to Back on My Feet. and still I have a real team behind me all the time. It’s a real family.”
— Dexter, Back on My Feet New York, Alum
"My whole life I was looking for community and I either couldn’t fit in or it was a community that seemed good but then led me astray. I really feel like I found Back on My Feet for a reason and now that I have the right community I can keep giving back and helping others."
— Jose, Back on My Feet San Francisco, Alum
"Back on My Feet not only gave me the community and physical activity I so desperately needed, but I stand taller now, and I have more hope for my future because of the support they continue to give me."
— Shawn, Back on My Feet Austin, Alum
